The OMG-SIO-530 is a PC bus plug-in card based on the 16550 FIFO buffered UART, which is compatible with the standard 8250. This single channel asynchronous serial communication card utilizes the RS-232 specification to provide RS-232 communications capabilities to your applications. The card is also user selectable for RS-530|422|485 and 20 mA current loop operation. Distances of 4000 feet in industrial environments are easily accommodated. Signals are transmitted and received via a 25-pin sub-D connector. Bit character lengths of 5, 6, 7 or 8, and odd, even or no parity are all available.
